Terms of service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Luma Calendar ("Luma," "we," "our"), the family calendar display and web application available at lumacalendar.com. By creating an account or using Luma you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Luma.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to create a Luma account. By using Luma you represent that you meet this requirement. If you create an account on behalf of an organization or family, you represent that you have authority to bind that group to these Terms.
2. The service
Luma is a family calendar display that mirrors the calendars you already use (currently Google Calendar; Apple and Outlook are planned) onto a kitchen-counter tablet and the web. Luma also includes shared grocery and to-do lists.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will not, however, materially reduce the functionality of a paid plan you are currently subscribed to without giving you a reasonable refund.
3. Account responsibility
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, for everything that happens under your account, and for ensuring that any household members you invite are aware of and agree to these Terms. Notify us at support@lumacalendar.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Luma to violate any law or third-party right.
- Attempt to access another household's data without permission.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Service in a way that disrupts our infrastructure.
- Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes another person's rights.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited messages or for any commercial purpose beyond personal household coordination, unless we agree in writing.
5. Third-party calendar providers
When you connect a third-party calendar provider (currently Google), Luma reads and writes events on your behalf using OAuth scopes you explicitly grant. You can revoke access at any time from the Luma Settings page or from the provider's security console. Luma is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party providers.
6. Service availability
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We recommend you keep an authoritative copy of your calendar in a connected third-party provider (e.g., Google Calendar).
7. Pricing and purchases
Luma may offer hardware (such as the Luma Calendar Home Tablet), software subscriptions, and optional premium features. Prices, plans, and what is included in each tier will be shown at checkout or on our website before you purchase or subscribe.
Creating a Luma account does not by itself require a paid subscription unless we tell you otherwise when you sign up or in a separate offer you accept.
If we introduce or change a recurring subscription charge on your account, we will give you at least 30 days' notice (or longer if required by law) and an opportunity to cancel before the new charge applies.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page or by emailing support@lumacalendar.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. If we terminate your account, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data.
9. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Luma name, logo, software, and content provided by us. You retain all rights to your own calendar data, list contents, and other content you provide. You grant us a limited license to host and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your household.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." LUMA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUMA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE. LUMA'S TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR USD $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Luma harmless from any claim arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
